Abstract. The author analyzes modern Russian language textbooks for fifth grade students. An attempt is made in the work to assess the state of educational literature for schoolchildren. In the course of the study, an analysis of linguistic material was carried out and on its basis a classification of the types of errors found was compiled, methodological recommendations were proposed for correcting them in books, and a questionnaire was conducted among subject teachers of the city of Petrozavodsk. Were considered three textbooks from the federal list for fifth grade students. In our opinion, studies of this kind are relevant and significant, since errors can be presented as one of the sources of information about the process of language acquisition. Analysis of the textbook is a necessary measure, since the textbook continues to be the main means and effective tool of the learning process, designed to help students master the content of the subject.
