Popularization of the activities of Arctic rural museums with the help of digital technologies

Abstract. The article examines the existing difficulties in the field of preserving the culture of the Northern peoples on the example of the Karelian ethnos. The purpose of the article is to analyze the problems of museums and their possible solutions based on the information technologies used in the PetrSU expedition to the urban-type settlement of Kalevala. The paper uses synthesis and comparison as methods of scientific research. The ways of working with museum objects through the use of FileMaker Pro software and through dialogue as a way of obtaining information about objects from museum curators are also characterized.
