Professional Activities of Pyotr Ongirsky, Senior Notary of the Petrozavodsk District Court

 Abstract. This article is the first to examines the activities of Pyotr Ongirsky, Senior Notary of the Petrozavodsk District Court, who served in this role from 1895 to 1910. The findings reveal that Ongirsky adhered closely to the regulations outlined in the 1866 Notarial Statute. His key responsibilities included selecting qualified individuals for junior notary positions, overseeing their performance in various districts, and enforcing strict penalties for serious infractions. In 1910, in light of the Stolypin reform, Ongirsky fervently advocated for increased government funding for the Olonets notarial system.
