Methods of forming the image of the police in public and private media in 2000—2009

 Abstract. The article presents a comparative analysis of publications in public and private media in 2000 – 2009, which formed the image of the police in society. The relevance of the topic is due to the significant role of the media in shaping public opinion and reflecting public sentiment. In forming public opinion, the mass media uses means and methods aimed at manipulating public opinion. Disclosure of these methods will help to more accurately analyze and interpret the information presented in these sources. The purpose of this article is to study the image of the police formed by the mass media and analyze the methods aimed at its formation. At the same time, Karelian publications are mainly used. In the course of the work, the author came to the conclusion that private media have a greater influence on public consciousness than state media, and state politics is based, among other things, on media materials
