The phenomenon of new poverty in modern Russia

 Abstract. This article is devoted to the study of the phenomenon of the «new poor» (based on empirical research in Petrozavodsk). The study was conducted in 2020, it describes the situation of the "new poor" group in the socio-economic structure of Petrozavodsk. In the study, we used methods of semi-standardized focused interviews. The ultimate goal was to identify and describe the peculiarities of the socio-economic situation of the study group.
