Abstract. Small-capacity nuclear power plants (SCPPs) are becoming a key tool for transforming Russian and global energy systems. Their compactness, modularity, and increased safety allow for the creation of a sustainable decentralized energy system, reducing dependence on long-distance ultrahigh-voltage networks. This seems to be an ideal solution for powering remote industrial areas, the Far North, and isolated settlements that often rely on expensive diesel fuel for electricity.
Keywords: decentralization, nuclear energy, low-power nuclear power plants, modularity, passive safety systems, RITM-200N
