Abstract. The article explores instructional design as a trend in the modernization of education. It analyzes the dynamics of interest in this topic within the scientific literature and examines the evolution of the concept along with its key models. Special attention is paid to the results of a student survey, which revealed a contradiction between the importance of this approach and the lack of awareness regarding its tools. This contradiction indicates the need to integrate instructional design into the content of methodological training of future teachers.
Keywords: instructional design, modernization of education, teachers, learning models, efficiency, design of educational environment, approach
