Abstract. The article analyzes the embassy of S. L. Vladislavich-Raguzinsky from the Russian Empire to the Qing Dynasty during 1725–1727. The embassy included Lorenz Lange, a Swedish officer serving in Russia. The author explores Peter the Great's foreign policy goals in East Asia during the first third of the 18th century, reasons behind the embassy's departure initiated by Peter the Great, and the course of the journey from 1725 to 1727.
