Abstract. This article explores the efforts of Finnish saboteurs and intelligence agents to orchestrate a Karelian peasant uprising and coordinate large-scale military operations in southern Karelia during the so-called "Karelian Adventure" of 1921–1922. During this period, hostilities between invading forces and Red Army units intensified in the northern Karelian volosts. The study emphasizes the role of food-based support provided by northern Karelian peasants to the invaders and separatists, analyzing this phenomenon in conjunction with the absence of an uprising in southern Karelia, where the food supply was relatively stable.
