Abstract. This article offers a comprehensive comparative analysis of methods for developing fundamental mathematical concepts in preschool children in Germany and Russia. It emphasizes methodological foundations, the teacher's role, organizational formats of instruction, and the practical application of various approaches. The study highlights both common trends influenced by contemporary theories of child development and key differences rooted in the cultural, historical, and educational traditions of the two countries. Additionally, practical recommendations are provided for integrating the most effective elements of both approaches.
