Landscape Urbanism in the Far North: A Case of Magadan

 Abstract. The article addresses the theoretical and practical foundations of applying the landscape urbanism approach in the Far North. The process of coastal transformation is analyzed using the examples of Mayak Park and Dukcha Ethnopark in Magadan. Special attention is paid to the historical development of landscape urbanism in Russia and abroad, as well as the prospects for its adaptation to harsh natural and climatic conditions. The article identifies the characteristics of public space design in the North and outlines key directions for the further development of the urban environment in Magadan.
