Historical Evolution of Arbitration Proceedings in Russia: Key Stages and Their Impact on the Modern Legal System

Abstract. The article analyzes the historical evolution of arbitration proceedings in Russia, highlighting the institutional and legal changes that have influenced the contemporary system. It traces key developmental stages from Ancient Rus to post-Soviet reforms, with particular attention to the continuity of procedural principles. The study identifies enduring elements – specialization, glasnost, adversarial mechanisms, and market-oriented adaptation – and emphasizes the importance of historical context for understanding modern challenges and prospects of arbitration development.
