Souvenirs as a Means of Promoting Tourism in the Republic of Karelia

Abstract. The modern tourism industry requires integrating traditional crafts with innovative technologies in souvenir production. Using the Republic of Karelia as a case study, this paper identifies challenges of standardization and the lack of local cultural codes in souvenirs. Proposed development strategies include developing regional product lines, establishing art residencies and interregional craft clusters, and using digital promotion. The development of souvenir products contributes to strengthening regional identity and increasing tourist attractiveness.
