Yakov Balagurov's Contributions to Science and Education After His Evacuation to Syktyvkar

 Abstract. Drawing on archival documents and published sources, this article examines the scholarly and pedagogical contributions of Yakov Alekseevich Balagurov from 1941 to 1944, after the evacuation of the staff of Karelian-Finnish State University. It highlights his pivotal role in advancing education in the Komi Republic and promoting scientific research amid wartime challenges. The impact of Balagurov's efforts on the establishment of a scholarly community and the training of specialists in the Komi Republic is also discussed. This study underscores the importance of his contributions to the growth of historical science and education during the war years.
