Abstract. An inventory of the herbarium at Petrozavodsk State University aimed at creating an electronic database uncovered interesting specimens of higher plants collected in the 1940s on the Taimyr Peninsula, specifically in the area of Ozhidaniya Bay. This paper analyzes the herbarium materials and provide botanical, geographical, and historical insights related to them. These specimens serve as invaluable documents, capturing significant pages of the history of flora exploration in the Russian Arctic. They may also contribute to the development of digital herbarium collections.
