Dentistry as a Social Institution: Its Elements and Role in Modern Society

Abstract. This article examines dentistry as a social institution, highlighting the distinctions between dentistry and medicine within this context. It provides a detailed description of the structural elements of dentistry through the prism of A.V. Reshetnikov's elements for the institution of medicine. The study explores the transformational characteristics of the institution's development, as well as the interconnections between social practices in the realms of dentistry and health. The analysis identified key aspects of the dentistry institution that impact individuals' social lives, underscoring the significance of this area of research.
