Abstract. This paper examines the evolution of trade relations between Russia and China during the late 17th century and the first third of the 18th century, focusing on the key components of commerce between the Russian state and the Qing Empire. During the reign of Peter the Great, significant transformations occurred in the trade interactions between these two nations. The article aims to provide insights into how these trade relations evolved, the extent and sophistication of the commercial ties between Russia and China, and the nature of the goods exchanged between the nations by the end of Peter the Great’s era.
