Abstract. The problem of the formation of comrades' courts at the beginning of the 20th century remains poorly understood. Estimates of this institute remain ambiguous. Comrades' courts arose at the beginning of the 20th century on the basis of the first trade unions. They were officially enshrined in the Regulations of 1919. The article reflects the main causes and stages of the emergence of friendly courts, their origin at the enterprises of Karelia. An attempt was made to trace the functioning of comrades' courts in the period of the 1920s to resolve issues of labor discipline. Conclusions are drawn about the competencies of comrades' courts and their influence on the labor education of the individual.
Keywords: Comrades'; Court, Karelia, discipline, violation, punishment
