 Abstract. This study examines correspondence from Soviet citizens to the editorial office of the newspaper The Communist of Kalevala. The main objective is to investigate the underlying causes for the rejection of letters requesting assistance from the newspaper. The analysis is conducted using the relevant collection of documents from the National Archives of the Republic of Karelia.
