Latin Figurative Expressions in Ivan Turgenev's Prose

Abstract. The phenomenon of Latin insertions in the works of Russian authors has not been sufficiently studied so far. The research was aimed at analyzing Latin quotes and insertions in Ivan Turgenev's works, including Fathers and Sons, The Torrents of Spring, Phantoms and Memories of Nikolay Stankevich, and to determine their role in the author's poetics.
