The role of the oil sector in the economies of Russia and the Soviet Union: comparative analysis

Abstract. The article raises the problem of dependence of the Russian economy on the oil sector. The author attempts a comparative analysis of the role of this sector in the economies of Russia and the USSR. Based on these evaluations concluded that a greater role of the oil sector in the economy of modern Russia in comparison with the USSR.
